The Arts and Culture Sector is dealing with the impact of art when it comes to the packaging of messages: Human Rights, Gender Equality, Reproductive Health and more to be dealt with in creative forms like drama plays, music, poetry or dances – various NGOs benefit from this sort of “Edutainment” through cooperating with artists who bring in their innovation and creativity being a subtle way of communication across cultural divides and easily to decode. In some cases, especially in the rural areas, the transfer of messages through art is even more efficient then the use of conventional forms of education. However, key stakeholders like the Zimbabwean Government are yet to recognize arts and culture as positive and effective vehicles for national development. For that reason, NGOs advocate for the support and the acknowledgement of the arts industry.
