The goal seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The Constitution of Zimbabwe under Section 75 provides for the right to education. This entitles every citizen and permanent resident of Zimbabwe to a basic state-funded education, including adult basic education and further education, which the state, through reasonable legislative and other measures, must make progressively available and accessible.

This is in recognition of the importance that quality education has in society. Education liberates the intellect, unlocks the imagination and is fundamental for self-respect and development of society. The Covid-19 pandemic has reversed some of the gains that we had achieved as the quality of education greatly decreased due to Covid-19 induced lockdowns and regulations to stop the spread of the virus.
