The health sector aims to strengthen the capacity of other NGOs to respond to and cope with health-related issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic, HIV prevention, care, and mitigating the impact of the epidemic. The sector encourages membership NGOs to focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as cancer screening, hypertension, and diabetes. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, as well as Gender Based Violence, are addressed to communities. The sector shall take cognisance of the most at-risk population’s health, psycho-social, rights, educational support, and economic needs. These will include women, children, and particularly the orphans and vulnerable, people with disabilities, and sex workers. The sector would always encourage the importance of conducting needs assessments for any intervention to be made for community ownership.
